QCHKPNT(1) Network Queuing Env. 3.3 Last changed: 4-13-98 NNAAMMEE qqcchhkkppnntt - Checkpoints an NQS request on a UNICOS, UNICOS/mk, or IRIX system SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS qqcchhkkppnntt IIMMPPLLEEMMEENNTTAATTIIOONN IRIX systems UNICOS/mk systems UNICOS systems AIX systems Digital UNIX systems HP-UX systems Solaris systems DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN The qqcchhkkppnntt command creates a file that contains all of the necessary information to restart the processes associated with a Network Queuing System (NQS) request if an unscheduled shutdown occurs. A scheduled NQS shutdown creates a new restart file to replace the restart file that the qqcchhkkppnntt command creates. The qqcchhkkppnntt command functions only for requests running on a UNICOS or UNICOS/mk server. Because qqcchhkkppnntt works only from within NQS requests, you must invoke it from within the request that is being checkpointed. The request continues to run after the checkpoint is complete. The NQS administrator can configure automatic checkpoints on the NQS server. EEXXIITT SSTTAATTUUSS If the checkpoint succeeds, the exit status is 0. If the checkpoint fails because of a user error, the exit status is 1. If the checkpoint fails because of a system error, the exit status is 2. EEXXAAMMPPLLEESS The following C program fragment causes the NQS request that references it to be checkpointed: #include #include #include int wait_status; if ((wait_status = system("/_n_q_e_b_a_s_e//bbiinn//qqcchhkkppnntt"")))) ==== --11)) {{ ffpprriinnttff((ssttddeerrrr,, ""ffoorrkk oorr eexxeecc ffaaiilleedd,, eerrrrnnoo == %%dd\\nn"",, eerrrrnnoo));; iiff((((eerrrrnnoo>>00))&&&&((eerrrrnnoo<<==ssyyss__nneerrrr)))) ffpprriinnttff((ssyysseerrrr,, ""EErrrrnnoo<<%%dd>> == <<%%ss>>\\nn"",, ssyyss__eerrrrlliisstt[[eerrrrnnoo]]));; rreettuurrnn((--11));; }} For the format of the wait status when it is not -1, see wwaaiitt(2).
