QMSG(1) Network Queuing Env. 3.3 Last changed: 4-13-98 NNAAMMEE qqmmssgg - Writes messages to ssttddeerrrr, ssttddoouutt, or the job log file of an NQS batch request SSYYNNOOPPSSIISS qqmmssgg [--ee] [--ff _f_i_l_e_n_a_m_e] [--jj] [--oo] _r_e_q_u_e_s_t_i_d IIMMPPLLEEMMEENNTTAATTIIOONN IRIX systems UNICOS/mk systems UNICOS systems AIX systems Digital UNIX systems HP-UX systems Solaris systems DDEESSCCRRIIPPTTIIOONN The qqmmssgg command lets you write messages to the ssttddeerrrr file, the ssttddoouutt file, or the job log file of a local Network Queuing System (NQS) batch request. Unless you specify the --ff option, the message is read from standard input and can be terminated by pressing <> at the beginning of a line. The qqmmssgg command supports the following options: --ee Writes the message to the NQS batch request ssttddeerrrr file. If the UNICOS multilevel security (MLS) feature or the UNICOS/mk security enhancements are enabled on your system, your current active label must equal the job execution label to write the message to the ssttddeerrrr file. UNICOS and UNICOS/mk NQS administrators can bypass this mandatory access control (MAC) rule. --ff _f_i_l_e_n_a_m_e Specifies the file from which the message will be read. --jj Writes the message to the NQS batch request job log file. If the UNICOS MLS feature or the UNICOS/mk security enhancements are enabled on your system, your current active label must equal the job execution label to write the message to the job log file. UNICOS and UNICOS/mk NQS administrators can bypass this MAC rule. --oo Writes the message to the NQS batch request ssttddoouutt file. If the UNICOS MLS feature or the UNICOS/mk security enhancements are enabled on your system, your current active label must equal the job execution label to write the message to the ssttddoouutt file. UNICOS and UNICOS/mk NQS administrators can bypass this MAC rule. _r_e_q_u_e_s_t_i_d Specifies an NQS request identifier that has the following format: _s_e_q_u_e_n_c_e-_n_u_m_b_e_r [.._o_r_i_g-_h_o_s_t] NQS assigns the _s_e_q_u_e_n_c_e-_n_u_m_b_e_r argument to the request when you submit it. The .._o_r_i_g-_h_o_s_t argument is the original host of submission; if you omit it, NQS uses the local NQS server. If you omit the --ee, --jj, and --oo options and the request does not return the NQS batch request job log for the local NQS server, the message is written to the request's ssttddeerrrr file. If you omit the --ee, --jj, and --oo options and the request returns the NQS batch request job log for the local NQS server, the message is written to the NQS job log file. Only the owner or a user who has NQS administrator status can send messages to a request. You cannot send messages to requests at a remote NQS server. EEXXIITT SSTTAATTUUSS An exit status of 0 indicates normal completion. An exit status of 1 indicates a user error. An exit status of 2 indicates an NQS error. MMEESSSSAAGGEESS The standard error file (ssttddeerrrr) lists explanatory messages for all irregularities.
